The Poppy canvas barn jacket

The one we have a feeling you’ll end up keeping permanently by the door.

The Poppy is our take on the classic barn jacket. A little bit workwear, a little bit country, and exactly the sort of easy layer we want to throw on over everything.

Cut from a substantial 379gsm organic cotton canvas, with a contrast corduroy collar, metal buttons and generous patch pockets. It’s garment dyed and washed too, giving it that softer, slightly lived-in finish from the very first wear rather than feeling too pristine or precious.

The shape is straight and deliberately roomy, with enough structure to feel like a proper jacket but plenty of space underneath for layering.

Wear it now over a tee, add a sweatshirt or knit as autumn kicks in, and expect it to get better the more battered and worn-in it becomes.

FIT & SIZING

The Poppy is generously cut, so we’d choose your size based as much on how you want to wear it as the number on your usual dress label. For full details see the size chart above

To care for yours: wash separately at 30°C, inside out, using a mild detergent. Do not bleach or tumble dry. Iron inside out on a low heat.

A note on the finish,This jacket has been garment dyed to create its soft, washed-in finish. It’s a process we love because it gives each piece its own individual character, meaning slight variations in colour and appearance are completely normal. Due to the nature of garment dye, some colour may transfer through rubbing, particularly onto light-coloured clothing, bags, furniture or other pale surfaces. Please take a little extra care, especially during the first few wears.

The colour will naturally soften and fade with wear and washing. This is an intentional characteristic of the garment-dye process and part of the jacket’s lived-in look.
