The Jo-Ann is the longer, floatier sister to our Wren blouse. The same easy neckline, softly puffed sleeves and throw-on shape, extended into a loose, swishy mini dress that works just as well with bare legs now as it will layered into autumn.
The neckline and sleeve cuffs are softly elasticated for stretch, ease and comfort, with a double ruffle around the neckline to give a little more balance to the longer silhouette. As with Wren, the tie at the neck is fixed rather than a functional drawcord. We found it simply sat better and was far less fiddly in real life.
Cut from limited deadstock cottons, there are 15 pieces or fewer in each fabric. Once they’re gone, we’ve used the cloth up and they won’t be repeated.

No pockets. We did trial them, but they pulled and gaped in wear, so decided the dress looked and sat much better without them.

All checks are woven into the cloth rather than printed onto the surface, giving them a lovely depth and texture.
A note on our fabrics
We work with deadstock wherever we can, sourcing beautiful fabrics that already exist rather than commissioning new cloth unnecessarily. It also means quantities can be very limited. With Wren, once we have used each roll, there is no more. No repeat production, no hidden stockpile. When it goes, it goes.
